McMinnville’s Parks and Rec Department is seeking public input to develop its five-year master plan.
Director Michael Benusches said that the open house Thursday night at the Milner Center will have representatives from a Nashville consulting firm speak with residents about the strengths and weaknesses of their facilities.
“What our community wants to see out of us in the next five years, what they think works best,” Benusches said. “And any ideas too for possible expansion of a new park, or new parks or new programs that we could offer to better suit our community.”
Benusches said this will be one of two public meetings to discuss the community’s wants and needs, with the other in July. He said that they hope to finalize the plan by September using information from the public meetings as well as an online survey that will go live on Thursday.
He said that they need the public input to best understand how to develop their master plan.
“It’s the road map to the success of our department,” Benusches said. “This master plan will be one of the most pivotal things and one for the most important things we can do as a department because it will serve as a block of ideas nad what we can do to better serve everybody where we can renovate to serve everybody and what we can do to better to help our community.”
Benusches said that all McMinnville residents are invited to attend the meeting from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
