Some Clay County roads have been named impassable by the Sheriff’s Department as icy conditions worsen.
According to Sheriff Brandon Boone, rural back roads have severely worsened.
“All the side roads and off roads are very slick and treacherous at this time,” Boone said. “The main roads are looking better now that T-DOT crews have been working on those for a while.”
Boone said his department has not received any calls for downed trees causing power outages at this time. Boone said all business and residents should be mindful of the traveling conditions.
“Please drive safe and take your time,” Boone said. “Keep other vehicles in mind when you come to a stop and try to keep your distance between the vehicles.”
