Man Steals Cash From St. Jude Collection Box

Crossville Police responded to the Highway 127 Dollar General Tuesday after a man stole money from a St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital collection box.

Officers reviewed security footage showing the unidentified man reaching around the store counter and removing $13 from the box. A police report said the subject bought cigarettes with the stolen cash and food items with an EBT card.

The report described the suspect as a white male with a beard. He wore a hat and brown jacket at the time of the incident.

The case remains under investigation at this time.
