Man Indicted For Armed Robbery In Smithville

A DeKalb County grand jury has indicted a man for an armed robbery that occurred in August.

Joshua McAllen Beckham faces two counts of aggravated robbery. He faces a December 10 arraignment hearing.

The incident happened at the Disco Tienda Latina store on East Broad Street in Smithville.

The indictment accuses Beckham of brandishing a knife and attempting to take money from a store clerk and Comcast worker. Authorities arrested Beckham several days after he fled the store without taking any money.

Smithville Police Chief Mark Collins said officers have recovered shoes, gloves, and the knife that Beckham allegedly used during the crime.
