Man Flees Monterey Police In Stolen Vehicle

Monterey Police arrested a Jonesborough, Tennessee man following a Wednesday night vehicle pursuit.

Perry A. Parker faces charges of evading arrest, reckless driving, and theft of property.

Monterey Police came in contact with Parker after the Tennessee Highway Patrol issued a BOLO for a stolen vehicle on Interstate 40 East. Officer Blake Bennett attempted a traffic stop at mile marker 300, but Parker allegedly fled at speeds over 120 mph. Bennett’s report said other vehicles had to drive off the roadway after Parker swerved across all lanes of traffic.

Jamie Lee Miller, 36. Johnson City, TN is under $26,000 bond at the Putnam County Jail. She was a passenger in a stolen vehicle involved in a Wednesday night pursuit in Monterey.

Parker’s vehicle came to a stop after Crossville Police officers deployed spike strips near the 321 miler marker in Cumberland County. He fled on foot until being confronted and held at gunpoint by a nearby property owner.

A passenger inside Parker’s vehicle, identified as 36-year-old Jamie Miller, was charged with theft of property and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Parker and Miller are being held at the Putnam County Jail on $48,250 and $26,000 bond, respectively.
