An Overton County judge has handed down a 37-year prison sentence to a child rapist.
Earl Junior Pike, Jr. entered a guilty plea Wednesday to the offense of Rape of a Child and Aggravated Sexual Battery.
The investigation began October of 2018 when authorities received allegations that Pike committed sexual offenses against a seven-year-old female. A press release said the investigation progressed and produced evidence indicating that Pike did in fact rape and sexually batter the child.
Officials said Pike eventually admitted to sexually penetrating the child at his home.
Pike received a 25-year sentence for the Rape of a Child case and 12-years for the Aggravated Sexual Battery case. The two sentences will run consecutive to each other for an effective 37-year sentence.
The Livingston Police Department and District Attorney General’s Office investigated this case.
