Livingston Vol-State Offering Evening Degree

Vol-State Livingston will offer a new evening degree program this fall.

Coordinator of Communication and Public Relations Eric Melcher said the program requires students to attend two days of evening classes.

“We understand that adult students, the ones that work during the day, need other options to be able to get a college degree,” Melcher said. “So we try to make it as flexible as possible for them to earn a degree in two years in General Studies. And that degree is the best degree we have for transferring to a university.”

Melcher said the program can help Livingston students find work and school balance.

“I think that they absolutely have seen a need for some sort of an evening degree program for folks in Livingston,” Melcher said. “And so that was really the decision to go in this program. It’s always tough for working folks to get a college degree.”

Melcher said prospective students can use the TN Reconnect Program to fund the two-year degree.

“I think really what we are always looking to do is to provide flexibility for students by offering classes during the day, evening, online. And then with this new program, it just gives students more options to be able to get that college degree.”

Prospective students can enroll in the evening degree program online.
