You may be wondering, what happened to Summer Movie Nights at Livingston’s Central Park?
Overton County Livingston Chamber of Commerce Director Shannon Cantrell said the event has been on pause while a new projector awaits shipment.
“The old one needed replacement,” Cantrell said. “It stopped working during our ice skating rink at the park when we were showing all the Christmas movies. Something happened to it, and we had to get a replacement.”
Cantrell said as soon as the gear comes in, the chamber will test the equipment and schedule the first showing. Cantrell said the new laser projector will have a better video quality for viewers.
“It’s going to be bigger, better and it’s supposed to last longer,” Cantrell said.
Cantrell said the goal is to have the first event this June. The movie nights historically kicked off in May. Cantrell said visit Discoverlivingston.com to find the dates when announced.
“I am looking forward to getting those going,” Cantrell said. “I hope we have lots of folks that come out to those movie nights. Remember they are free.”
