Livingston Fire At Value Pet Supply Friday

A Livingston pet store suffered minimal damage from a warehouse fire Friday.

Fire Chief Rocky Dial said dispatch received a call at 7 a.m. from a Value Pet Supply employee after detecting smoke in the building.

“Upon arrival we found that a sprinkler system had been activated,” Dial said. “Once the personnel made sure the interior was intact, they found a fire in a storage rack…and the sprinkler system had pretty well contained it.”

Dial said he believes the fire started over an hour before the employee called the fire department. The cause is under investigation.

The fire could have spread if the sprinkler system had not activated, Dial said. No injuries were reported.

“The Value Pet Supply operation is shut down,” Dial said. “And this, they do have another building that they are going to continue operations in until they get this one back up and going.”
