Roof replacement at the Leslie Town Center is now complete.
Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Amy New said that after bids went out this spring, the replacement process took just a week.
“It was in pretty bad shape, we had lots of rippling throughout and a couple of small leaks that could have gotten larger had we not gone ahead and addressed it by getting a new roof,” New said. “We had a lot of shingles missing too which was allowing for more moisture to get through.”
Cookeville City Council approved the $112,700 bid at its May 5th meeting. The cost for the roof replacement was covered using American Rescue Plan funds.
New said that the entire roof needed to be replaced after only receiving minor fixes and repairs over the last 20 years.
