Cookeville Regional CEO Paul Korth said the next two weeks will be critical in fighting COVID-19.
Korth said local residents need to follow the governor’s orders to stay home.
“That is the way to stop this spread,” Korth said. “The two places that you should be going to are work and the grocery. Anything else is more than we need to be out at this present time.”
Four patients remain isolated at CRMC. Korth said an additional staff member contracted COVID-19. Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Mark Piece said officials believe each staffer contracted COVID-19 elsewhere.
With plenty of space available to treat patients currently, Korth said his executive team has worked to develop plans for expanded space if needed.
