The City of Jamestown will solicit bids for the Main Street paving project.
Mayor Lyndon Baines said the project will begin in front of the Courthouse and end on South Main Street.
“We have put it in the budget this year for that, to do the paying. We try to do paving every year,” Baines said. “This year, we decided we needed to fix Main Street, it’s the most important thing for us to do right now. So all the money we budgeted will be just for that one paving project.”
Baines said he hopes to award a contract at the September council meeting.
“We opened it up for bids and we will put the bids out. Probably about the next meeting, we will have the bids,” Baines said. “And we will decide who gets the contract to do it.”
The Jamestown City Council approved the solicitation Monday.
