The rainy weather led to issues in Overton and Jackson County this weekend.
Jackson County EMA Director Keith Bean said there were a few downed trees but flooding was the bigger issue. Bean said on Sunday night two people had to be rescued after trying to cross a creek on Flatt Dyer Road.
He said flooding created impassible conditions on Highway 135, Trace Creek and Blackburn Fork. Bean said water was still covering Aaron Branch Road at 9:00 AM on Monday morning.
Overton County EMA Director Chris Masiongale said the county saw trees fall and power outages from high-winds and weather.
Masiongale said 48-50 mph winds caused outages and trees in the roadway into Monday morning. However, Masiongale said both issues had been remedied.
