Construction on the new Hormann plant in White County should be completed later this month.
County Executive Denny Wayne Robinson said Hormann has begun their hiring process.
“We’re excited, I go up there about weekly to check it out,” Robinson said. “It’s probably one of the biggest things economically to happen here in White County-actually it is the biggest. This is the biggest investment we’ve had in White County and we’re certainly excited about watching it get up and get going.”
The $64 million project will provide over 200 jobs. Robinson said the German based company will house its headquarters at the factory’s location.
Robinson said the hiring process and ordering parts have slowed due to COVID-19 concerns. He said the factory has one completed assembly line so far.
“Well as of right now everything is still a-go, still headed as predicted,” Robinson said. “Of course, construction got behind due to the wet weather that we’ve had almost over the past six or eight months. But things are still looking good.”
Hormann LLC manufactures commercial and residential garage doors. Robinson said for anyone interested in applying, visit the Hormann website.
