The Hope Chest in Fentress County will soon open its new expanded location.
Hope Foundation Board Member Kim Davidson said that the thrift shop will now be able to offer even more resources to the community. She said that the new location on South Norris Street is four times the size of its previous location, and can now sell more goods including furniture.
“It is the way that we raise money for the Hope Foundation but it’s also a service for the community,” Davidson said. “Because a lot of times those things are expensive and you need to know you can go out and find a good suit jacket and things like that. So we’re hoping that this will be a good service to the community.”
The Hope Foundation raises funds to help meet the needs of those in the community. Davidson said that they help with things like gas cards or paying electricity bills.
Davidson said that with expanded services, they also will expand their hours. She said that following the grand opening on June 11th, Hope Chest will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
