Putnam County authorities arrested a Harriman man Monday for aggravated stalking, driving under the influence, and evading arrest.
Officials charged 37-year-old Jamiah Ramon Pendergrass after an altercation in the Marti & Liz Shoes parking lot.
The victim notified authorities that he feared he was being followed by Pendergrass. The victim had pulled into the parking lot and observed Pendergrass pull into Maggart Tire Shop.
Arrest warrants indicate that Pendergrass then approached the victim on foot before officers arrived.
Pendergrass was dressed in all black, including a black toboggan cap.
Authorities noticed that Pendergrass had constricted pupils and red watery glassy eyes. Pendergrass also failed three field sobriety tasks.
Upon a search of the vehicle, authorities found a stun gun and 9mm ammunition.
The victim had observed Pendergrass near his home on N. Dixie Ave around 5:30 AM that morning. Pendergrass had another pending aggravated stalking charge against the victim’s former spouse in Putnam County.
Authorities booked Pendergrass into the Putnam County Jail on a $52,000 bond.
