The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Jackson County woman for tampering with evidence after she swallowed a pill during a traffic stop Monday.
Tracy Michelle Fields Rodgers, 46 of Granville, also faces simple possession, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia charges.
According to arrest warrants, deputies found one-and-a-half hydrocodone pills, along with a baggie with a small amount of a crystal substance believed to be methamphetamine.
During the consensual search, Rodgers took a plastic bag from under her arm and swallowed the contents. Authorities determined Rodgers had swallowed a single hydrocodone pill.
Two one-hitter marijuana pipes were found by authorities as well during the search of the vehicle.
Rodgers was booked into the Putnam County jail on $5,500 bond and has since been released. Her initial court date is Oct. 15.
