A Gainesboro woman faces multiple charges after evading a Cookeville Police Officer Monday.
Authorities charged 26-year-old Brittany Jennings with evading arrest and criminal simulation.
Officers attempted to stop a vehicle on E. Spring Street for a tag light violation. The vehicle continued on for a short distance and stopped. Jennings then exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
Trained K-9 tracked and located Jennings through local neighborhoods.
Arrest warrants indicate that Jennings said she ran because she thought there were warrants out for her arrest.
During a search of the vehicle, authorities located a counterfeit 100 dollar bill. Authorities cited Jennings for the possession of items classified as drug paraphernalia.
Officials booked Jennings into the Putnam County Jail on a $3,500 bond. Jennings has since posted bail.
