Former 18-Term House Member Buck Of Dekalb Dies At 89

Former legislator Frank Buck who served Cannon, Dekalb and Smith Counties over some 18 terms, has died. Buck was 89.

The Tennessee Tech graduate was born in Trousdale County and settled in Dekalb County. Buck elected to the State House in 1972 for the first of 18 terms. He retired in 2008.

Buck received accolades for his work in ethics reform, earning Tennessean Of Year honors in 2005 for his work in that area. At one point, he sponsored legislation that prohibited legislators from taking a cup of coffee from lobbyists.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Buck Sunday at 2pm in Smithville.
