Stone Memorial High School’s football field will get a new video board.

At the school board’s meeting Thursday night, the gift from the football boosters was approved unanimously. Buildings and Grounds Committee Member Robert Safdie:

“Football boosters have said that they will pay for the entire board and it comes to $82,303.52,” Safdie said. “And I think that is incredible.”

The new LED scoreboard will stand at 24 feet wide and over 12 feet tall. The $82,3003 covers the installation of the board and a three-year warranty. According to the company, it will take approximately 150 days from the deposit to install.

School Board Member Rebecca Hamby said that the work the football boosters had done to achieve this was amazing.

“I commend them,” Hamby said. “I know some of them, and they have worked very hard for this.”
