A Wednesday night fire destroyed an unoccupied mobile home in Putnam County’s Buffalo Valley area.
Putnam County Fire Department Captain Coty Nash said about 14 firemen responded to St. Marys Road.
“The first unit arrived on scene and found the trailer fully involved,” Nash said. “With the access problems in getting the apparatus back to the trailer, we decided it was best to keep everybody back at a safe distance and let the trailer burn.”
Nash said no injuries occurred and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
“The sheriff’s department is talking to witnesses and neighbors in the area to try and find out more information,” Nash said. “They’re looking into determining the cause.”
Nash said the firemen stayed on scene for about an hour and a half.
