A Wednesday morning fire destroyed a barn on Shepardsville Highway in Jackson County.
Jackson County Central Fire Department Chief Jeff Conn said flames had already engulfed the structure when crews arrived on scene.
“Most of it had burned to the ground, but crews made a real good quick knockdown on it,” Conn said. “There was no people or animals injured. Everyone got to go home safe.”
Conn said a cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
“From what we could determine, it looked like it may have started from a power outlet that was hooked to a generator,” Conn said.
The Nameless, Flynn’s Lick, and Central Fire Departments responded to the fire. Conn said crews remained on scene for about two hours.
