Fentress Fair Seeing Good Weather And Good Turnout

Excitement across the Fentress community as the County Fair continues into the week.

Director Cindy Smith said good weather and good attitudes have made the first few days a success. She said of all of the events and exhibits, the best part has been seeing the community coming together.

“You could put our board of directors together and you’d have about 15 people, but you bring in the community and you have a champion fair,” Smith said. “And that’s exactly what we try to make happen each year. Our community, our exhibitors, our spectators, and our volunteers go above and beyond to make sure we have the very best.”

Smith said one of the most popular events, the demolition derby, is set to happen this Saturday. A new component of this year’s fair–church on the fairgrounds. Smith said all churches are invited to come out Wednesday to form one big gathering.

Smith said on the exhibition side, she said this year has seen some of the highest quality products ever. She said while there are always good items, this year’s craft section has been the biggest and best yet.
