Fentress County Aims to Cut Down on Vandalism

Fentress County hopes to cut down on vandalism in South Fentress Park.

That according to County Executive Jimmy Johnson. Johnson said South Fentress Park has seen a number of separate vandalism cases.

“We have had three or four occurrences, nothing really major, but of course if it is $10 it’s major,” Johnson said. “I mean people should find something else to do with their time besides tearing up someone else’s property.”

Fentress County continues to see vandalism at South Fentress Park.

Johnson said the county commission wants to place security measures at the park.

“We are in the process to hopefully be able to put security cameras out there,” Johnson said. “That will be attached to 911 to help receive some of this.”

Johnson said Fentress County received $3,798 in insurance claims for vandalism at South Fentress Park.

“Of course South Fentress Park, they have had a lot of vandalism out there,” Johnson said. “And this is just where our insurance has paid for the repair work that is done by vandalism to the park.”

Johnson said further discussion would have to take place in order to implement security cameras.
