The demolition of the Fall Creek Falls Inn will continue into December.
David Robertson is the Director of Communications for the Tennessee Department of General Services.
“The demolition of the Inn is on schedule to complete by the end of December,” Robertson said. “The stand-alone wing has been demolished and the main building demo is underway. The site and foundation plans for the new Inn are currently in the design phase.”
Robertson said Fall Creek Falls has not experienced many setbacks in the project so far.
“[It] took some time to get all the planning done and to find homes for all the material that was being salvaged out of the building,” Robertson said. “But that has all been done and taken care of. So we are moving ahead now with finishing the demolition and starting on the new replacement facility.”
State officials expect the new facility to generate $278,000 per year in sales and occupancy taxes.
Robertson said the Inn and Restaurant should be completed in November 2020.
