A Fairfield Glade Police Officer died from natural causes during his New Year’s Eve shift.
Chief Michael Williams announced the death of Officer Jerry Singleton on Wednesday.
Singleton served in law enforcement for over 30-years, working for the Harriman Police Department, Kingston Police Department, Rockwood Police Department and Roane County Sheriff’s Office.
Williams said the 53-year-old Singleton began working for the Fairfield Glade Police Department in May of 2019.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later this week.
