Election Turnout Steady Across The Upper Cumberland

Upper Cumberland voters are hitting the polls at a steady pace in most counties this Election Day.

Van Buren Election Administrator Wayne Simmons said he has seen a consistent flow of voters at each precinct. Several commissioner races and the county mayor will be decided tonight.

Simmons said the county also experienced higher than usual earlier voting numbers.

Clay County Election Administrator Monica Davis said turnout has been steady but not heavy. While official numbers were not available, Davis said it seems to be an average Election Day.

Participation in Pickett County follows early voting numbers that were slightly down. Election Administrator Tim Clark said from what he has seen today, he expects turnout to be down about four percent from the 2018 election.

Fentress County’s elections seeing medium to heavy turnout. Administrator of Elections Joey Williams said they expect voting to be steady throughout the day.
