East 52 And Timothy VFD Fundraising At Standing Stone Car Show

The East 52 and Timothy Volunteer Fire Departments are teaming up at the Standing Stone State Park Car Show on Saturday.

East 52 Fire Chief James King said they will be working concessions and passing out fire prevention week information. King said if you bring an appetite early or work up one during the show, they have you covered.

“We have hamburgers, cheeseburgers and we’re actually doing pancakes that morning,” King said. “Pancakes and sausage, we’re doing sausage and biscuits and then we’re switching over to lunch around 10:00 AM and going to start serving hamburgers and hot dogs the rest of the day.”

King said that all concession proceeds go towards the volunteer fire departments. The car show will start at 9:00 AM and is free to attend.

King said that with $2,500 to operate on all year, these fundraisers are essential to just paying the department’s bills. However, he said his department is trying to save money towards replacing a 39 year old tanker truck.
