Dronebarger: No Malfeasance Found In Transportation Department

White County Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said in a statement that the school system found no malfeasance in its transportation department regarding its most recent audit report.

The State Comptroller’s Office found the transportation director allowed employees to use department-owned tools and facilities to work on personal vehicles. The director also allowed employees to leave early without using vacation time. The time sheets did not reflect time worked.

The investigation also found the director purchased a car for his daughter at GovDeals.Com using his White County account.

In the statement, Dronebarger said the Office of the Comptroller took issue with a number of school board policies in regard to certain practices. Dronebarger said the polices in questions were created by the Tennessee School Board Association.

“We will submit a copy of the Comptroller’s Report and the policies in question to TSBA to determine if amendments are necessary,” Dronebarger said in the statement.

According to Dronebarger, administration has already taken action to correct the deficiencies.
