The Tennessee Department of Education has selected Dr. Joe Miller as the new director of the Alvin C. York Institute in Jamestown.
Department officials made the announcement via press release Friday.
According to the release, Miller comes to AYI from Claiborne County where he most recently served as the director of schools. While in Claiborne County, Miller helped turn a Level 1 district into a Level 5.
“I consider it an honor and a blessing to get to work at a school in a community with such a strong tradition and potential to do great things for kids,” Miller said in the release.
Miller will step into his new role following the departure of Phil Brannon last month.
