The demolition of the Inn of the Cumberlands in Crossville has hit a slight delay.
City Attorney Will Ridley said Tuesday that a few studies will need to take place before demolition takes place.
“The reason it’s not on the ground yet is because we are having to do an asbestos studies as well as some other studies that are resulting out of a meth lab that was on the property,” Ridley said. “Once those studies are completed we will be ready to bid the project and bring it to you to approve funding for the actual demolition.”
The city of Crossville condemned the inn two years ago after the owners failed to address several code violations.
Earlier this year, the city voted to file a lawsuit after giving the owners several chances to pay off taxes on the property.
