Tim “Tree” McPherson will be on November’s ballot as the Democratic candidate in Putnam County’s Register of Deeds election.
The Putnam County Democratic Party conducted a caucus and voted on McPherson for the spot out of two candidates.
131 votes were cast in the Republican Party’s caucus for three candidates. John Sanders won with 71 votes, followed by Luke Thornton with 62, and Lynn Haas with 8 votes.
The caucuses were called after longtime Register of Deeds Harold Burris passed away before the August election. He was running for the position unopposed, and the timing did not allow for another candidate to submit papers.
