DeKalb County is planning for a county-wide community clean-up this Saturday.
Chamber of Commerce Director Suzanne Williams said that they will have locations all around the county for volunteers to take part. She said that as the season for tourists arrives, the county wants to make sure it’s doing everything it can to make DeKalb look beautiful.
“We want it to not be special just for visitors,” Williams said. “We want to have our places looking fabulous for our locals as well. We want to have a place we can be so proud of. A lot of times we’ll visitors who will come and say they just can’t get over how clean it is here.”
Williams said that the clean-up is in conjunction with the “Keep America Beautiful Campaign.” She said that volunteers can meet up at the County Complex between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. to receive trash bags, rubber gloves, and bottles of water.
