DeKalb FD Looking To Purchase Tanker Truck

The DeKalb County Volunteer Fire Department is looking to add another tanker truck to its fleet of vehicles.

The county will hopefully make the purchase with Community Development Block Grant funding.

Chief Donnie Green said the county only has one tanker truck and needs another way to get water to fire scenes in the rural parts of the county.

The DeKalb County Commission will meet Monday night to consider applying for a $315,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).

If awarded, the county would be required to pay 16-percent of the grant amount plus any additional funding required to complete the project.
