The Dale Hollow Fishing Tournament will return to Byrdstown on the weekend of April 23rd.
Mayor Sam Gibson said the community is excited to welcome back the two-person, two-day tournament.
“We usually have a real good turnout for the spring tournament,” Gibson said. “We had like 105, 110 boats last year. By far the biggest turnout we’ve ever had and had a real good tournament. We’re hoping to do that again this year.”
Gibson said the competition serves as a big economic driver for the town. Gibson said teams with the highest number of fish caught will have a chance for the grand cash prize.
Gibson said more details are to come as the Board of Aldermen just recently approved the tournament date.
