Dale Hollow Lake Ranked 4th? Locals Say No

Dale Hollow Lake was voted fourth best bass fishing lake in Tennessee in a poll of Tennessee student anglers and captains of high school fishing teams.

Executive Director of the Dale Hollow Chamber of Commerce Billy Robbins respectfully disagrees with the ranking. He said Dale Hollow should top the list and challenged those high school fishermen to give the lake another try.

“We still have the record bass,” said Robbins.  “As a matter of fact we are still listed as having six of the top ten small mouth bass on record. So, is Dale Hollow a number one bass fishing location? I am going to say absolutely, unequivocally yes!”

Chickamauga Lake topped the list while Douglas Lake and Pickwick Lake finished second and third respectfully. Kentucky Lake rounded at the top five.

Dale Hollow is the record holder for for the worlds largest small mouth bass. David Hayes caught an 11-pound, 15 ounce bass on July 5, 1955.
