Crossville city officials are one step closer to selecting the next chief of police after narrowing their choices down to the final eight.

Among the eight finalists are three current Crossville Police members, including Interim Police Chief Chris Kendrick, Lieutenant Tony Davis, Jr., and Lieutenant Brian Tilley.

Richard Holt is also a candidate for the position of chief. Holt previously served as Cookeville Police Chief between 1993 and 1996, as well as a law enforcement administrator for the Highway Safety Office for nearly 20 years.

Other candidates include Tennessee Bomb and Arson special agent Johnathan Willis; Tennessee Highway Patrol Knoxville Captain Jessie Brooks; law enforcement consultant Jon Fehlman; and McKenzie Police Chief Craig Moates.

A decision on the next Crossville Police Chief is expected to be made within the next week, at the earliest.
