The Tennessee Highway Patrol has released the identity of a man who died in a Friday night automobile accident in Cumberland County.
22-year-old Alex Hamilton of Crossville was traveling North on Cox Valley Road when the accident occurred. A Monday morning crash report said his Chevrolet truck left the roadway before striking a tree stump and power pole.
The vehicle landed on the pole and came to a final rest sideways on the driver’s side. The report noted that Hamilton was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.
The incident marked the 16th traffic fatality in Cumberland County this year, which is six more traffic deaths than 2018.
