A Crossville man faces an arraignment hearing Tuesday after being indicted on vehicular homicide charges.
A Cumberland County grand jury handed down indictments against 40-year-old Jamie Dwayne Richards last week following the death of 85-year-old Bessie Huxoll last December.
Richards was arrested after allegedly driving drunk on Highway 101 while traveling north in the southbound lane. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported Richards’ 2015 Chrysler 200 struck the front end of a Nissan Versa driven by 88-year-old George Huxoll.
Both Richards and George Huxoll suffered injuries while George’s wife Bessie passed away in the crash.
The grand jury indicted Richards for vehicular homicide by intoxication, vehicular homicide by recklessness, and driving under the influence.
