Crossville Man Dead Following Sunday Morning Shooting

A Crossville man has died following a Sunday morning shooting in Northern Cumberland County.

Doctors pronounced 39-year-old Travis Sinard dead at a regional trauma center Monday morning. Officials said his body remains on life support pending organ donor procedures.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said Sinard suffered gunshot wounds during a domestic altercation. A press release said deputies responded to Colby Circle at 4:48 a.m. in regards to an individual ramming a vehicle.

The release said deputies discovered one person inside a vehicle suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They found another individual in the front yard of the residence suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Medical helicopters airlifted Sinard and 41-year-old Jude Pennington to trauma centers. Pennington left the hospital Sunday afternoon after receiving medical treatment.

Officials said the incident remains under investigation by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
