Crossville Lieutenant Relieved of Duties

Crossville City Police Lieutenant Bart Riden was relieved of his duties Friday.

That according to Captain Brian Eckelson.

“What I have in my paperwork is that Lieutenant Bart Riden was relieved of his duties, in reference to a violation of city policy and conduct unbecoming of an officer,” Eckleson said.

TBI Public Information Officer Josh DeVine said an investigation into Riden’s actions is active and ongoing.  The investigation was requested after allegations of inappropriate conduct surfaced against Riden.

Eckelson said the department is currently accepting applications.

“We’re testing again Wednesday, but the career center here in Crossville takes applications for us,” Eckleson said. “Anybody interested in applying for a position can go there and fill out an application.

Eckelson said no further information was available regarding Riden’s release.
