The Crossville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce has named David Rutherford as their interim president and CEO.
Rutherford said he will look to continue several of the Chamber’s current and previous efforts in growing the local economy.
“We’re going to continue to the work that has been going on as far as industry recruitment. We have a good staff that can help continue that,” Rutherford said, “and then do some of the projects in the community that the chamber had been involved with before with the Horizon initiative, trying to get some of those back up and more active in the community.”
The Chamber’s Board of Directors voted earlier this month not to renew former president Brad Allamong’s contract. Allamong has since submitted his resignation and has stepped down from the position.
Rutherford said he will not seek the position full-time and will assist the Chamber’s steering committee in their search for a new president.
