The City of Crossville has voted to bring employee wages up to a more competitive market.
The Monday morning vote came after the city hired McGrath Human Resources Group to conduct a compensation and wage study for the city.
That study found entry pay below market value for 83-percent of the positions offered by the city. In addition, McGrath found that 5-percent of positions could possibly fall below the average market.
The council’s vote also establishes a new position of public works director for the City of Crossville.
Officials said employees should see wage increases on their checks starting January 19.
