Crossville City Manager Greg Wood has received a two year contract extension.
Members of the Crossville City Council approved the deal during Tuesday night’s meeting.
Mayor James Mayberry said council has decided to hold off on adjusting Wood’s compensation.
“As for any adjustment in compensation, I would like to have our compensation study comeback with suggestions from the company that we’ve hired,” Mayberry said. “To look at the job description and compensation for a comparable operation that we have here.”
Council expects to receive the final report of the compensation study sometime next month. Wood currently makes $88,538 a year.
Wood said council needed to take action because his current contract expires in the the near future.
“March 6 is just around the corner,” Wood said. “If you decide that you do not want to renew my contract you need to start advertising now. That way you can get someone to replace me in a timely fashion.”
The original employment contract for Wood expired March 2019, but council members gave him a one year extension in July 2018.
