Crossville Begins Hiring Process For Leisure Services Director

Crossville has started the process of searching for the city’s first leisure services director.

City Manager Greg Wood said the position will help Crossville’s parks and recreation department run more efficiently.

“We are doing some reorganization over in parks and recreation and it seemed like an appropriate time to bridge that gap,” Wood said. “The wage study that we were conducting said we had too many director reports from me, so it’s trying to narrow that focus down some. If you get someone over some of those smaller departments, it provides some oversight and I don’t have to oversee five people, I can just oversee one.”

Wood said he expects the new leisure services director to be hired by July 1.

Applications will be accepted by Crossville Human Services Director Leah Crockett until the position is filled. The starting salary is listed at approximately $57,000.
