Crossville to Apply For TAEP Grant

Crossville City Council voted to submit an application to the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program Tuesday night.

Greg Woods is the City Manager of Crossville.

“This is something we have done the past couple of years and what it is is a fifty-fifty match for trees. They put in five thousand and we put in five thousand,” Woods said. “That helps provide a lot of the trees you’ve seen planted around the community. If we can we will provide some of those trees at the Garrison Park Project.”

The application must include information on the site of tree planting, a maintenance plan, and a detailed planting layout map.

If awarded the grant, Crossville must stay within guidelines for tree planting, including tree size, depth of the hole, and the type of soil.

Application submission ends June 8.

The grant contracts will begin on November  1.
