Cookeville Regional Medical Center could see potential changes when it comes to concealed carry weapons.
Chief Operating Officer Scott Williams said some visitors with concealed carry permits aren’t aware weapons aren’t allowed on the premise.
“We’re working on developing a policy to notify security of a legal weapon that needs to be secured,” Williams said. “At this hospital, we do not allow weapons in the hospital. However, some folks don’t see the sign and they have a legal concealed carry weapon that we identify, and we need a method to secure it.”
Williams proposed the idea during the organization’s Board of Directors’ Planning Committee meeting Tuesday. The Board did not take any official action on the proposal.
