A three-month fundraiser supporting a Crossville non-profit and author has began.
Housing non-profit Creative Compassion has partnered with Author Rita Reali to fund its mission. Deputy Director Mark Baldwin said Reali will donate 15% of gross sales of her first three books and 20% of gross sales from the fourth novel.
“She reached out to Creative Passion, and she wanted to help out with our fundraising,” Baldwin said. “She’s currently writing a book series, and it’s lots of adventure, tests of love and loss and all kind of good things, and she partnered up with us to offer a portion of her proceeds.”
Baldwin said the fundraiser will last through May. Baldwin said the funding will go to the organization’s rent, mortgage and utility assistance program.
“You don’t necessarily have to be low-income,” Baldwin said. “You can also just be a regular person that has fallen on some hard times, and they’ve lost work which caused them to get behind on their bills, so we can help them get caught up.”
A book signing with the author herself will happen March 26th. Baldwin said you can come to Grinder Coffee House from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and purchase a book in-person.
Her available books are the first four in what will be be a seven-volume family saga set in and around a fictional New England radio station.
