CPAC To Get New Lighting Console

The Cookeville Performing Arts Center will soon have a new lighting console.

Cookeville Leisure Services Director Rick Woods said city council members will consider purchasing a new system during Thursday night’s meeting.

“The lighting console at CPAC is pretty old technology,” Woods said. “It’s over 20-years-old and it’s starting to lose it’s memory.”

Eight companies submitted bids for replacing the lighting console. Woods said Generations Technologies submitted the low bid at $13,285.47.

“We budgeted this year to replace that and we got a good number of bids,” Woods said. “We’re recommending to low bid meeting specifications. That’s Generations Technologies and that is under budget.”

CPAC uses the console for theatrical design to control multiple lights at once. The Cookeville City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. Thursday inside city hall.
