TDOT Receives Bids For South Jefferson Widening Project

The long-awaited South Jefferson Avenue widening project has taken another step forward.

T-DOT is expected to select Rogers Group for the project Thursday. Three companies bid for the project with Rogers Group the low bidder at $39.6 million.

The project includes grading, drainage, creating walls, signals and paving.

Should TDOT choose to award the bid, they will then move forward with contracts.

TDOT Community Relations Officer Rae Anne Bradley said that the whole process can take anywhere from six to eight weeks, with construction anticipated to begin this fall.

Bradley said that currently, the estimated project completion will be September 30, 2024.
